At South Wirral High School, we know that staying properly hydrated is essential for maintaining focus, energy, and overall wellbeing. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or during busy school days, ensuring that our students and staff have easy access to fresh drinking water helps everyone perform at their very best.
That’s why we’ve invested in high‑quality watercoolers from AquaAid.
Making a Difference Beyond Our School
Choosing AquAid hasn’t just helped us improve hydration on site—it’s also enabled us to support life‑changing work around the world. Through our partnership, every installation of an AquAid watercooler includes an automatic donation to The Africa Trust, a charity dedicated to improving access to clean drinking water in vulnerable communities.
These donations fund the construction of Elephant Pumps—a simple, robust water pump based on an age‑old Chinese rope-and-pulley design. This type of pump is easy to maintain locally, making it a sustainable and reliable source of clean water.
We’re proud to share that an Elephant Pump is currently being installed in Africa on behalf of South Wirral High School. This pump will provide fresh drinking water for an entire village, helping families stay healthy, attend school, and build stronger futures.
Celebrating Our Contribution
Once our pump is completed, our school’s name will be displayed on it—a lasting reminder of the positive global impact our school community is helping to create. We look forward to sharing a photo of the pump, along with a certificate and a letter of thanks from the local villagers, on our website soon.
A Partnership That Keeps Giving
To date, AquAid has funded the installation of over 10,000 Elephant Pumps across countries including Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Together, these pumps have transformed millions of lives and contributed more than £20 million to charitable projects.
We’re delighted that South Wirral High School is now part of this incredible story—supporting hydration here at school while helping communities across the world access something as essential as clean, safe water.
