At South Wirral High School, we are an ambitious and inclusive community where every pupil is known, valued and supported to become the very best version of themselves.
We believe that every student’s progress should be remarkable. We focus on the whole educational experience for each young person, striving for success in examinations while also enabling them to flourish through sport, the arts, leadership opportunities and a rich range of enrichment activities.
We provide an ambitious and carefully sequenced curriculum that enables all pupils, including those with SEND, to develop secure and deep knowledge over time. Through high expectations of achievement, behaviour and attendance, we create a calm, purposeful and supportive environment where every pupil can succeed.
Through evidence-informed teaching and learning, underpinned by the South Wirral Way, we equip pupils with the knowledge, skills, confidence and resilience needed for future success. We develop independent, determined and well-rounded individuals who are prepared for university, employment and life beyond school.
The confidence, character and skills our pupils gain ensure that they leave South Wirral High School ready to contribute positively to society and fulfil their ambitions. This can only be achieved through strong partnerships with families, employers, higher education providers and the wider community.

History
Education has been taking place on the site of our school since 1969 when Eastham Secondary School opened its doors. South Wirral High School was formed in 1985 by the merger of Eastham and Bromborough Secondary Schools.
