We are incredibly proud of all our year 11 students at South Wirral High School.
This is a year group that have been significantly affected by the pandemic in their learning and preparation for their exams. It is a testament to the hard work and endeavour that these young people have put in over the last 5 years that they have significantly closed learning gaps to get the best results they possibly can.
Headteacher, Mr Simon Goodwin, said:
“Thank you to all the staff who have supported students to achieve these grades. We have seen how the staff have developed an exciting and challenging curriculum which has empowered students to be the best versions of themselves. Students have managed themselves with real maturity and we are so pleased that their efforts have been rewarded. On behalf of the governors, I would also like to thank all our parents for the support they have given to their students and to the school. “
South Wirral High School is delighted to welcome so many students into its Sixth Form following their excellent results and we welcome applications from any other student who feels they have the required entry requirements to join us.
Some selected notable successes in grades include:
- Nerys Galvin (3 x 9s, 5 x 8s and 1 x 7)
- Ellie Louise Jones (4 x 9s, 1 x 7 and a Dist*)
- Holly McCann (1 x 9, 5 x 8s, 1 x 7 and Dist*)
- Laura Supple (1 x 9, 1 x 8 and 3 x 7)
- Fearne McKnight (2 x 9, 1 x 8 and 1 x 7)
- Mathew Jones (4 x 7s)

Whilst these students achieved some top grades, we are proud of the progress that all our students have made.
These GCSE results come just days after strong Sixth Form results. We wish all our students every success in the future, as they seek to further their learning or take up apprenticeships or employment. We would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved in enabling our students to achieve their potential.
A small number of places remain for a September start at our Sixth Form. Students should contact the school on [email protected] should they wish to secure a place.
