Changes to Merseyrail Services – from Monday 22 August 2022

To improve the reliability of Merseyrail services, the frequency of trains at Green Lane and Bromborough Rake stations will be reduced to every 30 minutes from Monday 22nd August until further notice.  

This will improve the reliability of trains on the line.  Merseyrail believe this will provide the improvements customers are asking for whilst affecting the smallest number of people possible.

A more frequent 15-minute train service is available at other stations near to Bromborough Rake and Green Lane for those who may require it. For Bromborough Rake, passengers who need a 15-minute service can travel to or from Bromborough or Hooton stations. Passengers travelling from Green Lane station can use Birkenhead Central or Rock Ferry for a 15-minute service if required.

Merseyrail recognise this change will impact customers and are sorry for any inconvenience this will cause for passengers that use these stations.  The following link will take you to the relevant information on Merseyrail’s website:
