Behaviour System

Our Behaviour System: A Parent Guide

At South Wirral High School we want every pupil to learn in a calm, safe and positive environment. To support this, we use a clear and consistent behaviour system that helps pupils make good choices, understand expectations and learn from mistakes.

This guide explains the different types of detentions, where they take place, and how the system builds in a fair, staged way.

Our Approach

  • We teach and model positive behaviour.
  • We celebrate pupils who meet and exceed expectations.
  • When behaviour falls below expectations, consequences are fair, consistent and designed to help pupils reset.
  • Restorative conversations help pupils repair relationships and return positively to lessons.
