Dear Parents/Carers,
We are delighted to inform you that as of today, South Wirral High School (SWHS) is officially part of The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT). This marks an exciting new chapter in the school’s journey.
As you may already be aware, last year, the governors of SWHS applied to the Department for Education to join TCAT. Since then, both SWHS and TCAT have been working closely to ensure a smooth transition for staff and students.
For the most part, day-to-day life at SWHS will remain the same. However, becoming part of a multi-academy trust brings many benefits to the school community. These include an expanded support network, increased training and collaboration for staff and enhanced learning opportunities for students.
Some of the exciting opportunities that students will have access to include:
- Joint trips (this year, a group of Year 12 students will be visiting the Carpathian Mountains in Romania alongside students from two other TCAT sixth-form colleges).
- The TCAT Parliament, which enables students to have a voice and participate in decision-making across the trust.
- TCAT Performances, showcasing the talents of students across all TCAT schools.
- The Challenge Award – a reward programmes and annual celebration event that recognises student achievements across the trust.
You are welcome to find out more about TCAT by exploring the following resources:
