Dear Parent/Carer,

We hope you are well and we are very much looking forward to the Induction Events taking place on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 and over the summer holidays; this letter outlines information about the events and the key dates/times they take place.

Welcome Day for Students – Wednesday 3rd July 2024

  • Students are to be dropped off at Main Reception between 8.25 and 8.35 where they will then be directed towards the J Block gates and guided towards their line up lines.
  • Students will receive their Form and House allocation before the Welcome Day and will meet their new peers in their Forms .
  • Students will then take part in activities including team building exercises as well as a range of subjects they will be studying from September.
  • Students will have a break time from 10.30 – 10.45am and lunch from 12-1pm where students should bring their own packed lunch.
  • The Induction Day will end at 2.45pm, 20 minutes before the rest of the school finishes for the day so our new students have plenty of time to leave the site and be collected.

Summer School – Monday 19th August – Wednesday 21st August 2024

We are delighted to be holding a 3 day Summer School Transition Week in August. All students are invited to attend on all three days. Each day school will open at 8.45am ready for a 9.00am start. Each day will finish at 2.15pm. Each day there will be a carousel of team building, fun activities.

On this day students should enter through the main gates and report to Reception where a member of the team will be there to greet them. They should wear their own clothes and footwear suitable for PE sessions. A bag with some writing equipment, a water bottle, some sunscreen and a hat would be useful. Students will need to bring a packed lunch for each day, breakfast snacks will be provided each day on arrival. Please advise us of any dietary requirements/allergies using the return below.

At the end of each day there will be a uniform and equipment stand in the Student Entrance selling ties (£5.50) blazer badges (£3.50) scientific calculators (£7.50) and other stationery.

Please complete the Google Form here to indicate whether your child will attend the summer transition week – the deadline for this is Friday 21st June 2024 so we can ensure all provisions and plans are in place to support all students attending. If you have noted any SEND/Medical requirements, a member of staff from the SEND team will be in touch to discuss any arrangements required.
