We have been overwhelmed with positive feedback on the transition material and activities we have published so far. We are glad the videos and live Q&A session have been helpful and we’ve loved looking through all the wonderful work completed by our new year 7s on the Google Classroom.
Parents’ Transition Information Evening: 1st July, 5pm – 6pm
On Thursday 1st July there will be an online transition information evening for parents & carers. The event will include pre-recorded presentations from key staff as well as a live question & answer session. The link will be published 48 hours before the event starts.
Students’ Transition Day: 2nd July
On Friday 2nd July we were due to hold a day of transition activities on site at school. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this day due to the recent government extension of restrictions.
In its place we will be holding a live afternoon event on Friday 2nd July. We will be in touch with our primary colleagues to arrange the details of this event shortly.
Summer Transition Week: 9th to 12th August
We will be holding a 4 day Summer Transition Week in August. All students are invited to attend on all four days. Each day school will open at 8.45am ready for a 9.00am start. Each day will finish at 2.15pm. Each day there will be a carousel of curriculum workshops in the morning and a PE activity in the afternoon.
On this day they should enter through the main gates and report to reception where a member of the team will be there to greet them. They should wear their own clothes and some trainers suitable for our PE session at the end of the day. A bag with some writing equipment, a water bottle, some sunscreen and a hat would be useful. Students will not need to bring any lunch however as everyone will be provided with a hot meal at lunchtime from the canteen. Please advise us of any dietary requirements/allergies using the return below.
At the end of each day there will be a uniform and equipment stand in the main reception selling ties (£5.50) blazer badges (£3.50) scientific calculators (£7.50) and other stationery. We will also be accepting payment for school lockers; lockers are £20 for 5 years which includes a £5 deposit to be returned at the end of the hire period. We can only accept cash.

The school year will start on Thursday 2nd September for Year 7 only. On this day students should arrive at school, ready for a 8.30am start. From Friday 3rd September onwards school will begin at 8.45am
