At South Wirral High School, we are proud to announce the launch of our new Values Cards initiative, aimed at celebrating and reinforcing our school’s five core values: Kindness, Respect, Determination, Independence, and Ambition. These values are central to our ethos and guide us in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and aspirational learning community.
Students in Years 7 to 10 now carry Values Cards, which staff sign when they observe the students exemplifying these core values in their actions. Each time a student fills a row of five values, they are entered into a prize draw held at the end of each half-term – one entry for every completed row.
This week’s launch has been a resounding success! A special congratulations to Evaline in Year 7, who was the first student to submit a fully completed card – a fantastic display of commitment to our values. Additionally, Year 8 has been the standout year group, submitting the most completed cards this week. A huge well done to them, as well as to their Head of Year, Mr. Johnson, and Assistant, Miss Sheen.
In the coming weeks, we’re excited to expand the scheme further by introducing tokens that students can earn in addition to achievement points. These tokens will be redeemable for a range of goodies, giving students even more incentive to embody the school’s values. Stay tuned for more details!

We look forward to seeing how the Values Cards encourage even more positive actions throughout our school community.
