Dear Parent,
I hope you and your family are well.
Our school site is now closed to all students, except a very small number of students, as directed by the government.
Government health advice is that the safest place for children to be is at home.
However, we will support all our students through this confusing time.
All students will receive a regular keep-in-touch phone call, which will be an opportunity to discuss any welfare issues that may arise.
All the information they need about school is on the front page of the school website – https://www.southwirral.wirral.sch.uk/school-closure/ The school curriculum is now live on Google classrooms and will be updated every day with a daily bulletin. Students can contact their teachers through Google classrooms.
If your son or daughter needs a paper pack, these can be picked up in reception. Please call in advance if you plan to do that.
If you are in receipt of free school meals, we will be distributing vouchers by email within the next 24 hours.
The advice we gave students in school last week was to remember the 4 B’s.
Be safe – wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, and stay at home where possible
Be reassured – school will stay in touch with you. We will ring you regularly and we will always be available in school hours to talk to you via phone or email
Be motivated – your curriculum is available on Google classrooms and we will be sending out lots of advice on how to make sure your education does not suffer
Be kind and considerate – to everyone, but especially your friends and family
Our school community has responded fantastically well to these recent events and we can all be proud of that.
Mr Goodwin
