We’re excited to report that our Bookbuzz initiative this year was a resounding success with our Year 7 and Year 8 students! Each student received their chosen book, selected from a range of 16 diverse and engaging titles, and they are now enjoying their new reads during Library Lessons in English. It has been wonderful to witness the enthusiasm and curiosity these books have sparked among our young readers.
The Bookbuzz program, a nationwide initiative supported by BookTrust, aims not only to provide students with high-quality books but also to foster a lifelong love of reading. By offering a wide selection of genres and themes, from fantasy adventures and gripping mysteries to heartfelt stories and real-world explorations, Bookbuzz empowers students to choose a book that resonates with their individual interests. This element of choice is crucial, as it helps students feel more connected to their reading material, boosting their engagement and enthusiasm for reading.
This event marks just the beginning of their reading journey, and we can’t wait to see how these new books inspire them throughout the school year. Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in this year’s initiative! Here’s to many more pages turned, stories shared, and imaginations sparked throughout the coming months.
