Dance

Planning, delivering and Evaluating an advanced Dance Warm up that includes exercises that Mobilise the Joints, Raise the Pulse, Stretch the Muscles and Strengthening and short term and long term effects on the body.

Learning more advanced principles of choreography, creating a trio based on the 6 actions

Spring• Commercial Street Dance Scheme of work
Recapping and learning advanced skills in Hip Hop, Street, Locking, Breakdance and choreography in crews. The use of more advanced choreographic devices and group work.
Unit 3 and 4
• Skills are assessed in each style and compiled into a choreographed dance and performed in competition style – practical
Summer• Contact Improvisation
Learning the basics of this style and working to choreograph a duet/trio and perform

Students work in house groups to create a dance for performance. Everyone takes on a role and contributes with their strengths accordingly.
