Our canteen serves a wide variety of hot and cold snacks and meals at breakfast, break time and lunchtime.

CASHLESS CATERING

At South Wirral High School we operate a cashless catering system.  Students are issued with swipe cards that they can top up using machines in our school canteen area.

FREE SCHOOL MEALS

You can now apply for free school meals online by completing a short form using the links below. For each successful application, our school receives additional pupil premium funding, which could go towards equipment, resources, trips or uniform discounts.

Am I Eligible for Free School Meals?

Parents or guardians are entitled to get free school meals or milk for their children if they receive any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

BREAKFAST

Students are able to purchase breakfast in the school canteen from 8:15 am.

BREAKTIME

Students are able to purchase healthy snacks in the school canteen between 11-11:15 am.

LUNCH

Students are able to purchase lunch in the school canteen from 12pm.
