MISS H COTTRELL – ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER & DESIGNATED LEAD FOR SAFEGUARDING

SENCO: Miss H Cottrell

The SENCO co-ordinates additional support for students with special educational needs and liaises with parents and carers, teachers and other professionals who are involved with them, to ensure the best possible provision.

PROGRESS LEADERS:

Our progress leaders are responsible for monitoring the academic performance of the students in their subjects and ensuring that every student can reach their potential.

LEARNING MENTORS:

At South Wirral, we have a team of dedicated Learning Mentors, which has been established for over 17 years with a proven record of fantastic success. Our Learning Mentors work one to one with students who may need extra pastoral support during their school journey through group work, self-esteem classes and offer a nurturing service that helps our students social, emotional and mental health.

Heads of House

The Head of House monitors your child’s whole educational experience, ensuring that the individual needs of students are met. The Head of House morally, spiritually, socially and culturally helps to educate all students in their care, throughout their time at South Wirral. Parents of Year 7 students are invited into school to meet House staff a short time after the start of the school year and will act in partnership to ensure your child is supported and encouraged at each stage of their development.
