Students Success Celebrated During Upper School Presentation Evening

In early November we hosted our annual Upper School Presentation Evening – celebrating the success of students who took their GCSE exams in the summer, and those in Year 11 who have excelled in the previous year.

Mr Goodwin welcomed parents, governors, staff and students to the school – with a speech highlighting this summer’s fantastic exam results. Amongst the presentation of GCSE certificates by our heads of house, the audience was treated to some fantastic solo performances from three of our current Year 9 Music students – Jorja Price, Sharna Harding and Ellie Hayes.

We were delighted to be joined by two special guests for the evening, former student Anya Harrison and local MP Alison McGovern. In her speech, Anya spoke of her love for South Wirral, her experiences on the school stage through Drama and how the school shaped her future. Anya is currently on a teaching placement at the school, while studying Neuroscience at Manchester University. Alison emphasised the importance of aspiring to be the best, and of working towards making your local community a better place. She also encouraged students to show appreciation to their parents and teachers for all of their dedication and support over their school life.

Mr Goodwin and Alison then presented our highest achieving students with trophies in recognition of their achievements.

Thank you to all who attended the event.
