South Wirral Digest Issue 5 – May 2016

It’s been another jam-packed half-term at South Wirral High School, almost too much to fit into this edition! Art students exhibited in the Lady Lever Gallery, impressing the public with their talent, plus our three exchange students talk about their encouraging experience in SWHS Sixth Form. Hundreds of students from years, 7, 8, and 9 achieved many awards at the Lower School Presentation Evening, so make sure you check out the photo gallery! A special thank-you to year Daniel Symons, year 10, our newest Student Media Team member, for his personal contribution to this issue, writing a detailed review of the latest release of the classic, Jungle Book.

It’s that time of year again: exam season. Staff are focusing on supporting students and parents through this stressful period, in any way possible, so we’ve included the exam timetable (for all years) and many helpful exam tips, including revising using the Pomodoro Technique. We know that this is a stressful time, so encourage students to eat well, sleep well, and reward revision sessions with breaks.

Over the Easter Break, hundreds of students attended Easter School, with revision sessions covering all subjects. The attendance of hundreds of students illustrated an unswerving commitment to their education, as well as the many teachers who gave up their valuable time to support students with their GCSE revision.

That’s all for now, so enjoy the sun, get lots of rest, and carry on working hard!
