In Memory Of Christopher Farwell
Christopher Farwell the first Headteacher of Eastham Secondary when the school opened on the present South Wirral High School site in 1969, died last month aged 84.
Mr Farwell was a much respected Headteacher who established the new school, with a radical curriculum, in the forefront of educational thinking. Former students will not only remember Mr Farwell, who was Headteacher from 1969 to 1984, but also his wife Mrs Farwell who taught music. Together, they pushed their own piano up Plymyard Avenue, so that there could be music on the day the school opened.
Mrs McCormack, Governors, staff and retired staff represented school at Mr Farwell’s funeral which was on Monday 16th June at Landican.
