GCSE Results 2015

GCSE results at South Wirral High School show strength in depth across the curriculum once again.

South Wirral High School is celebrating another year of strong examination results across all curriculum areas, but particularly, once again, in Mathematics. The results show the school’s strength in depth across the curriculum in Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Technology and especially the Visual and Performing Arts.

Staff, students and parents celebrated success on GCSE results day. Around 60% of students achieved 5 A* to C grades. There were many outstanding individual achievements with so many A and A* grades but particular congratulations go to the highest attaining students – Danny Ward (8A*s, 3As),  Millie Sherliker (6A*s, 5As), Hannah Stuthridge (4A*s, 4As), Haydyn Pidcock (4A*s, 6As), Ellen Roberts (3A*s, 6As), William Burrows (3A*s, 6As),  Matthew Muskett (2A*s, 8As), Jack Harrison (2A*s, 7As), Rachel Bradley (2A*s, 5As) and Samuel Jones (2A*s, 5As). Parents and teachers will be proud of the students’ results. They are just reward for all the hard work that has been put in over five years.

These GCSE results come a week after excellent A Level results, which saw so many of our students going to top universities.

We wish all our students every success in the future, as they seek to further their learning or take up employment. For students who wish to continue their education at South Wirral, enrolment to sixth form takes place on the mornings of Wednesday September 2nd for year 12 and Thursday September 3rd for years 13/14. If students cannot attend on that day please contact Mr Neal to arrange an appointment.

Further information about our examination success can be seen on the school’s website at

Our Open Evening is on Wednesday October 7th
