Coronavirus Update – 24/03/2020

black and white version of south Wirral high school building

Dear parent/ carer,

This is a reminder of how the school is supporting our young people through this time of great uncertainty.

Every student should receive a welfare telephone call, at least once a week. Work is set for all students via Google Classrooms. Teachers will give feedback to the students through Google Classrooms.

If you require a paper pack please contact the school so that this can be posted to you. Please note we will not be able to give feedback on work submitted on paper until the school re-opens.

If your child is in receipt of free school meals you will have already received an email/text message from us with details of our voucher scheme. If you think you qualify but have not heard from us please contact the school reception.

The front page of the website should contain all the information you need – https://www.southwirral.wirral.sch.uk/school-closure/

Parents might also consider these websites for home learning –

https://quizlet.com

Why not install “Kodu” on your home computer – we use this in school to teach students to code – https://www.kodugamelab.com/

Audible are offering free audiobook streaming for children’s books – https://stories.audible.com/start-listen

Mrs Taylor has shared this recipe booklet, all recipes are separated into Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9. Year 9 recipes being more difficult than Year 7. Feel free to send pictures of your culinary creations through google classroom and social media.

We will send out some more suggestions over the following days.

Thank for your support and all the kind messages that have been sent in to the teachers.

Best wishes to you all,
Mr Goodwin
