The Computing Department has embraced the new computing Curriculum in KS3.

We are introducing exciting and industry-relevant topics such as Games design, App creation and the programming language, Python. Code Club is going strong, with students at all Key Stages enjoying creating their own games and code.

The global ‘Hour of Code’ events means our students join hundreds of thousands of young people from across the world, learning code with over 50 choices of activity. These include Minecraft, Star Wars and Frozen. Students received a certificate upon completion of their ‘Hour of Code’.

Year 9 student Anastasia said:
“I’m speechless, it’s amazing. I’ve used Scratch before and it is similar. This has really inspired me to try to do more coding”

Coding has an enormous impact on the world, and we want our students to understand how, and be part of it. Maybe we will find the next Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg here at South Wirral!
