Carol Concert at St Barnabas Church 2015
South Wirral High School’s Music Department organised a magical Carol Concert, hosted by St Barnabas Church, Bromborough, with students performing to a packed crowd, full of Christmas spirit. The evening began with a warm welcome from Director and Reverend, Jenny Gillies before introducing the staff and students’, ready to perform. An array of singers, guitar players, drummers, and sing-sign students entertained the audience, who sang along to Christmas Carols, peppered throughout the evening.
Head of Music and Music Teachers, Mrs Parker, and Miss Deacon, did a fantastic job of organising and orchestrating a fabulous community Christmas Carol Concert event, and the students of all years, once again, showed us how confident, talented and committed they are to making school events outstanding. “It was wonderful to see our community coming together, in a packed church, to celebrate Christmas, by listening to the musical talents of the students of South Wirral High School.” Headteacher, Mrs C McCormack.
Sixth Form student, Tommy said: “As part of Music BTEC, I have taken part in many extra-curricular activities including school choirs. Being part of the Music department has allowed me to take part in many musical performances and has built up my self-confidence massively. I also help out with my old Primary School, Raeburn’s Drama Club every Friday, which is helping me gain experience for my future career as a primary school teacher.”
